Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using cosign.fyi ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who purchases a slot or submits content.

2. The Service

cosign.fyi is a permanent, finite grid of 1,000 slots. Each slot holds one genuine recommendation submitted by a real person. Slots are sold on a first-come, first-served basis at a one-time fee. Once all 1,000 slots are filled, no further purchases will be accepted. The grid is intended to be a permanent public record.

3. Purchases & Payments

  • All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details.
  • The current price to claim a slot is $5.00 USD. The current price to gift a slot is $5.00 USD. Prices are subject to change; your purchase is locked at the price shown at checkout.
  • You are purchasing one (1) permanent slot for one (1) recommendation. Slots are not transferable except through the gifting feature provided on the Site.
  • Gifted slots are subject to the same terms. The gift purchaser is responsible for ensuring the recipient understands and agrees to these Terms before redeeming.

4. Refund Policy

All sales are generally final. However, we distinguish between two situations:

4a. Approved submissions

Once your submission has been approved and your slot is live on the grid, no refund will be issued. If a technical error on our end prevents your slot from being created after payment, contact us and we will resolve it promptly or issue a full refund.

4b. Rejected submissions (policy violations)

If your submission is rejected because it violates our Content Standards (Section 5), a refund will be issued less Stripe's payment processing fees (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction), which are non-recoverable by us. We do not profit from rejected submissions — the deduction covers only the fees we cannot recoup from Stripe. By submitting, you accept that violating our content policy will result in a partial refund, not a full one.

5. Content Standards

By submitting a recommendation, you represent and warrant that your content:

  • Is a genuine, first-hand recommendation for something you have personally used or experienced.
  • Does not contain spam, affiliate-only promotions, or content you were paid to submit without explicit disclosure.
  • Does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Does not impersonate another person or entity.
  • Does not include personal data of third parties (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) without consent.

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and a partial refund (less processing fees):

  • Pornography, sexually explicit material, or adult content of any kind.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualizes minors in any way. We will report such submissions to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement. No refund will be issued for CSAM submissions.
  • Promotion of illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Promotion of illegal firearms, weapons, or instructions for violence.
  • Hate speech, content that dehumanizes individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
  • Harassment, threats, or content designed to intimidate specific individuals.
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading content intended to harm others.
  • Content that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates illegal activity.

We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion and are not obligated to pre-screen submissions. Removal decisions are final. For approved slots that are later found to violate these standards, no refund will be issued.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting, you grant cosign.fyi a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to display, reproduce, and distribute your recommendation on the Site and in promotional materials related to cosign.fyi. You may request removal of your content by contacting us; however, removal is not guaranteed given the permanent nature of the grid, and no refund will be issued for voluntarily removed content.

All Site design, code, copy, logos, and branding not submitted by users are owned by cosign.fyi and may not be used without written permission.

7. User Accounts

An account is created automatically when you purchase a slot or redeem a gift. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account or allow others to access it. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

8. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Site to:

  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls.
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content without prior written consent.
  • Use automated tools to submit recommendations or purchase slots in bulk.
  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the operation of the Site.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the Site's software.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted recommendation. Recommendations reflect the personal opinions of their authors, not cosign.fyi. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on content found on the Site.

We do not guarantee that the Site will be available at all times or free of errors.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, cosign.fyi and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid for the slot giving rise to the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless cosign.fyi and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe's terms of service. We are not responsible for any issues arising from third-party services.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
